14-04-09 : Daoudi Looking for GT3 Return (communiqué du site officiel GT3 FIA...)

Highly experienced GT racer Stéphane Daoudi is hopeful of rejoining the FIA GT3 grid in 2009.
The French race winner last competed in the category in 2007, racing a Ferrari 430 for JMB Racing before moving to the LMS and 24 Hours of Le Mans, and some races in ALMS and FIA GT Championship with JMB last year to race the Maserati MC12 and finishing fourth overall at the Spa 24 Hours.

However a similar program for this season has fallen through at the last minute and the highly experienced Daoudi is now hopeful of a return to the world’s most competitive sportscar category.

Stéphane Daoudi said:
“I think I had one of my best seasons last year, with good results and a 100 % finishing record, and I did it with a combination of driver very similar to the existing rules in the FIA GT3 European Championship as I drove with the 2007 FIA GT Citation Cup winner Ben Aucott.

I still have very good relation with Ben and the JMB team, but unfortunately we have no plans together at the moment.  I have no budget but I’m one of the most competitive ‘Gold’ drivers eligible in FIA GT3 and I’m ready for racing.
I know that the actual economic situation is not easy but if a team needs me to race with a ‘Bronze’ driver, I know all the tracks and I can ‘jump in and win’ in any car if it’s a competitive one!”
