The Rosso Verde, Predator CCTV and MTECH Ferrari 430 Scuderias toped the timesheets in first free practice for rounds three and four of the Avon Tyres British GT Championship at Knockhill today.
Quickest of all and nearly a second under the official lap record was French driver Stephane Daoudi, who is standing in for Allan Simonsen in the Rosso Verde car. There were more dramas for reigning champions the Jones brothers; after setting the early pace their Preci-Spark Ascari suffered a front suspension failure and ploughed off the track into a gravel trap. In G4, it was the nimble Piranha Motorsport Lotus, driven by Simon Mason, which set the pace. Danish driver Vibe Smed spun her Century Motorsport Ginetta, causing light damage.
